Surprisingly good March 16, 2010 Oli Somenzi (Londres, UK) Although I'd never admit being a literary snob (or have I just?) I did approach this book with a bit of caution: could such a popular book be any good (a la Harry Potter) or would it just be disappointingly crass (a la Dan Brown)? Well, I have to say that I got completely caught by the Larsson bug and really enjoyed the ride. Really liked the unfamiliar Swedish setting and the atypical characters. Even if the mystery was not that satisfactory once unravelled, it was gripping for the main part of the book.
I read the book in French so can't comment on the English translation, but it was overall efficiently written (even if a bit clunky at times. Oh Dear, the snob one is out again...). Anyway, gotta go: two more books to read!

Stieg Larsson's ability to define various characters and scenes within a great storyline has made for a brilliant book.
